talian farmers and associations are calling on the European Parliament to suspend measures that classify CBD as a narcotic substance and ban the trade of hemp in Italy.
Italian farmers are protesting against measures taken by Giorgia Meloni's government that threaten the survival of the industrial hemp production chain. Several national agricultural organizations, such as the Confagricoltura, CIA e Cover, together with specialized associations such as Cannabis Sativa Italy and European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA), have submitted a petition to the European Parliament. The petition denounces the violation of European rules, in particular the free movement of goods, and calls for the suspension of measures that prohibit the production and trade of hemp flowers and classify CBD as a narcotic substance.
